Shared Services Distance Learning (SSDL)
Shared Services Distance Learning (SSDL) courses are Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) courses offered in partnership with Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) or other colleges in the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). These courses allow students to earn PVCC credit while taking an online course with an instructor from another VCCS school, as well as use the PVCC testing center to take proctored tests.
All Shared Distance Courses have a section number in the course schedule of .90-.99. Each course will have the following statement in the notes: “This is a Shared Services Distance Learning (SSDL) online course offered in collaboration with Northern Virginia Community College.”
Shared Distance Course students have access to all services provided by NVCC in addition to all PVCC resources.
- myPVCC access (Canvas, Student Information System (SIS), Student Gmail)
- All Student Services (PVCC, NVCC)
- HelpDesk Services (PVCC IT Support, NVCC Technology Resources)
SSDL courses can be requested for students by PVCC staff using the following (coming Sept 2023).
