The PVCC4U.100%! tuition assistance initiative covers the cost of tuition and fees for qualifying students who enroll at PVCC, using a combination of federal, state, and institutional funds. PVCC4U.100%! tuition assistance is available for fall, spring, and summer semesters. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Virginia Alternative State Aid application (VASA). Eligibility for PVCC4U tuition assistance will be determined after your FAFSA or VASA application is completed. Additional eligibility criteria is below.
PVCC4U.100%! Eligibility Criteria
PVCC4U provides 100% of the cost of tuition and fees for in-state students who:
- Have a family income of $100,000 or less
- Enroll in 9 credit hours or more
- Have not earned a bachelor’s degree or higher
- Plan to complete a degree or a certificate program.
Visiting students taking a course to transfer back to their university are not eligible. This mirrors the federal guidelines for courses that are eligible for financial aid. Even if you do not meet the above requirements, there are other sources of financial assistance available.

Who is eligible for PVCC4U?
New and continuing PVCC students who live in Virginia, have an adjusted gross family income of $100,000 or less and enroll in 9 or more credit hours during the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters. Students must be planning to complete a degree or a certificate program. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Virginia Alternative State Aid Application (VASA), the financial aid process and be deemed eligible to receive Federal Student Aid or Virginia state aid.
What does PVCC4U cover?
PVCC4U covers the full cost of tuition and fees for credit hours taken during the fall, spring and summer semesters, in calendar years 2022, 2023, and 2024 for students who meet all of the eligibility criteria.
How do I apply?
The first step is to complete and submit the PVCC application. Once submitted, an enrollment coach will contact you with next steps.
How will I know if I am approved for PVCC4U?
Once you have completed and submitted the required PVCC application, an enrollment coach will confirm your next steps and eligibility. If you do not qualify for PVCC4U, you may qualify for other types of financial aid and scholarships. Your enrollment coach will discuss options with you.
Is there a minimum GPA required for PVCC4U?
Yes, students must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements for the current semester. New students (those not currently enrolled) should connect with an academic advisor to cover requirements.
What happens if I withdraw from or fail a course after receiving PVCC4U funds?
Students must meet satisfactory academic progress (SAP) standards to maintain eligibility.
For new students enrolling, your academic advisor will discuss with you what happens in the case of withdrawal from or failure of a course.
Federal student aid requirements may also apply.
Are dual enrollment high school students eligible for PVCC4U assistance?
No. Dual enrolled high school students are not eligible to receive financial aid. However, students who graduate and enroll in regular programs may be eligible for the PVCC4U.
How long does assistance from PVCC4U last?
Eligible students may receive funds during each semester. Connect with advisors or the financial aid team to learn more.
Are out-of-state or international students eligible for PVCC4U?
PVCC4U tuition assistance is limited to students who are residents of Virginia and eligible to receive Federal Student Aid.
